Quarterly Summary - April to June 2025

The Surry County Office of Substance Abuse Recovery (SCOSAR) is committed to fostering a healthier, more resilient community through comprehensive prevention, early intervention, recovery support, workforce development and justice initiatives. This quarterly report summarizes the programs, partnerships, and data-driven outcomes from April to June 2025, highlighting the agency’s multifaceted approach to addressing substance use and its impact on individuals, families, and the broader community.

Throughout the quarter, SCOSAR engaged with youth, families, community organizations, faith-based partners, and individuals in recovery to deliver impactful services. Highlights include expanded early intervention programming in schools, hands-on prevention efforts like the “Resist the Influence” series and “Fatal Vision” simulations, faith-based community events, and mental health literacy training.

Our Recovery to Work and transportation services continued to bridge gaps in access to employment and treatment, while our Post Overdose Response Team (PORT) and internship program advanced recovery-oriented systems of care.

This report also incorporates updated service utilization data, evaluation findings from our strategic initiatives like the Surry Transition Project, and direct feedback from community surveys. These insights inform ongoing service delivery and strategic planning as we strive to build a coordinated, effective, and compassionate system of support.
