SCOSAR INVITES ALL OF SURRY COUNTY TO SUBSTANCE USE IMPACT AND COMMUNITY FEEDBACK SESSIONS
Your Voice Matters — Help Shape Our Community's Response to Substance Use
SURRY COUNTY, NC — The Surry County Office of Substance Abuse Recovery (SCOSAR) is hosting a series of Substance Use Impact and Community Feedback Sessions at locations across Surry County this summer. These sessions are designed as safe, welcoming spaces for all community members to share their experiences, identify gaps in services, and help shape how opioid settlement funding is invested in our community for years to come.
Substance use affects our families, our schools, and our neighborhoods. Whether you have been personally impacted by substance use, know someone who has, or simply care about the health and well-being of Surry County — your voice belongs at the table.
These sessions are part of SCOSAR's ongoing commitment to a community-driven planning model. As stated in SCOSAR's planning framework: "Funding prioritization based on community-based assessment processes and a strong evidence base will ensure fiducial and governmental accountability while promoting outcomes informed by research and experience." Your input will directly inform SCOSAR's recommendations to Surry County leadership on how opioid settlement dollars are spent under the North Carolina Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).
